InterAccess is very happy to be the accessibility partner for Irish Rail, Ireland’s railway network provider.
Since 2018, We have built a strong relationship with the Irish Rail digital content team, who are responsible for online platforms. This is helping Irish Rail to deliver the highest level of accessible user experience for customers who use assistive technology.
In this engagement we have provided training on web accessibility to Irish Rail developers, and designers to help create a strong sense of awareness of how assistive technology is used. We have helped them understand how people with disabilities interact with functional areas of their website, and mobile applications.
We provided training on how to design for accessibility, and in general, develop solutions that meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) rather than trying to retrofit accessibility later. This approach not only provides a cost benefit in terms of money and time to the client, but it also gives the end user a better experience all round.
We tested and provided consultancy to Irish Rail on key aspects of their booking flow, planning a journey, reserving a seat and purchasing a ticket.
We have supported the client on key projects such as:
- Rosslare Europort – One of the largest and busiest ports in Ireland located in the South East Region
- Dart+ – The DART+ Program aims to improve travel in the Greater Dublin Area. It will see the DART network grow from its current 50km in length to over 150km. Bringing DART travel with all its benefits to new and existing communities.
