Learn about the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG); what they are, understand success criteria failure and success, and how you can measure the accessibility of your websites and services.
In this module, you will learn about WCAG and how it is developed and structured, and will gain an understanding of each of the 4 WCAG principles (Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, Robust). We’ll walk through the success criteria (SC) that we can test our content against.
We’ll walk through the additional success criteria that were added as part of WCAG 2.1, review upcoming updates such as WCAG 2.2 and discuss what it means for you and users of your content.
We’ll also take a look at the more commonly failed success criteria, see examples of the failures and learn how to avoid them when we develop content.
After completing the module, you’ll have a clearer picture of what WCAG is, how we use it to evaluate our content and understand how to avoid the more common accessibility issues.
